In October, the added value of the chemical industry increased by 6.8% year-on-year, a decrease of 2.2 percentage points compared to the previous year's growth rate.
Among major chemical products, ethylene production decreased by 6.3% year-on-year; the output of primary plastics and synthetic rubber increased by 4.9% and 13.2% respectively; synthetic fiber production decreased by 3.9%; caustic soda production increased by 13.4%; soda ash production increased by 5.6%; fertilizer production decreased by 5.3%, with nitrogen fertilizer decreasing by 12.8%, phosphate fertilizer and potash fertilizer increasing by 12% and 6.2% respectively; pesticide production decreased by 1.6%; rubber tire production increased by 8.6%; and calcium carbide production increased by 5.3%.
From January to October, the added value of the chemical industry increased by 8.4% year-on-year, a decrease of 1.1 percentage points compared to the previous year's growth rate.
Among major products, ethylene production reached 14.83 million tons, an increase of 2.7%. The output of primary plastics reached 67.48 million tons, an increase of 6.4%; synthetic rubber production reached 4.51 million tons, an increase of 8.2%; synthetic fiber production reached 37.48 million tons, an increase of 4.6%. Caustic soda production reached 26.97 million tons, an increase of 7.2%; soda ash production reached 21.24 million tons, an increase of 1.5%. Fertilizer production reached 61.59 million tons, a decrease of 1.9%; among them, nitrogen fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer production decreased by 1.9% and 1.4% respectively, while potash fertilizer production increased by 5.6%. Pesticide production reached 3.11 million tons, an increase of 2.3%. Rubber tire production reached 778.79 million units, an increase of 7.4%. Calcium carbide production reached 21.27 million tons, an increase of 3.4%.
Among the key monitored chemical products, the Price of some products increased compared to the previous month.
In October, the average Price of caustic soda (flake alkali) was 2630 yuan/ton, an increase of 4% compared to the previous month and an increase of 11.9% year-on-year; soda ash was 1510 yuan/ton, a decrease of 0.7% compared to the previous month and an increase of 12.7% year-on-year. Urea was 1210 yuan/ton, a decrease of 0.8% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 21.4% year-on-year; domestic diammonium phosphate was 2650 yuan/ton, a decrease of 1.1% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 7% year-on-year. Calcium carbide was 2530 yuan/ton, an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous month and an increase of 19.3% year-on-year.
